Testimonial from Kate Hingston
Life can be difficult and I had for sometime been considering trying a meditation practice to generally help ease my passage in trickier periods. I was looking for a ‘tool’ I could pick up in times of need. I really wasn’t expecting what I found.
Eight years on I still meditate every day, twice a day, because I love it, look forward to it and have found it life-changing in ways I never conceived of.
I was never really a spiritual seeker or alternative therapy advocate. I was in need of a method of calming my mind and had spoken briefly to an acquaintance about it who planted the seed of TM… I decided I’d give it a go, and from the very start I found it transformative.
There are so many good things I could tell you I have found through practising TM but I think the ultimate thing to say here is that it simply makes everything so much EASIER and therefore life so much better! That’s the greatest message I want to pass on.
It doesn’t take away all of life’s difficulties but it eases how I react and deal with them. It calms my response, thoughts and feelings, which ultimately, subtly, changes everything.
I believe we get back more of what we give out (the law of attraction). How we react to people/situations can reflect how others react/respond to us in turn.
TM enables my mind to respond from a calmer perspective rather than an agitated/reactionary state, creating more ease and balance in interactions and life generally. One feeds the other. And on and on. And from there it all just gets better and better. It’s so simple.
I’ve tried “mindfulness” practices in the past and found them hard work and not long lasting.
TM is without struggle and the benefits have been both sudden and also more creeping and surprising, over and over and on and on.
My only regret perhaps is that I waited until I was in my fifties to explore it.
Testimonial from Robert White:
I have been practising TM for a year now. When I first started it felt like my brain had had a well needed de-scaling.
I’ve struggled with a ‘busy head’ for a long while. People would tell me I think too much. At worst my thoughts would feel like a swarm of erratic bees, bouncing around the inside of my head. I would often feel swamped by my emotions.
To deal with this I’ve often used self medicating, as well as trying things like mindfulness, but these never consistently worked in calming my inner self.
I like TM – it’s a lovely little discipline. It’s nothing to do with trying to suppress or control thoughts. When I meditate I am aware of my thoughts seeking attention, but my mantra allows me to stay centred and let those thoughts go. My thought processes outside of my meditations have more equilibrium now, they are more settled. No more swarming.
I find I am now calmer and happier in life, and the simple practice of TM is an intrinsic part of the fabric of my day. No effort required.
* In Summer I sit in the garden to meditate. A juvenile robin often visits me at these times, and has gotten very used to my presence. This is the photo I’ve included.
Testimonial from Simona Dolari
TM has changed my life in a very good way. I arrived there with a very open mind but also with a lot of questions. There were so many things going on inside me however outside everything looked great. A nice job, a good family, a nice house. TM gave me the clarity to see deeper and with more calm and consciousness. Now I am aware that I can’t try to control everything around me and things can be difficult but there is always a calm place where I can go and find myself. I am truly grateful to my teacher Jonathan to have introduced me to this incredible path with incredible kindness and knowledge.” Simona
